HI 83749 portable photometer is a convenient dual-function instrument specifically designed to accurately analyze turbidity in wine and monitor bentonite addition and thus verify protein stability. This instrument automatically compensates for wine color to guarantee accurate readings during the vinification process; even for the darkest red wine samples.
The precision optical system, consisting of a tungsten lamp and multiple detectors, assures long-term stability and minimizes the need for frequent calibration.
Calibration is performed with ease and the flexibility of two, three or four point curves (0.1, 15, 100 and 500 NTU - adjustable calibration points), using supplied or user prepared standards.
The meter is designed to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) specifications and allows maximum traceability of data, such as a real-time clock and log-on-demand data capture (up to 200 measurements).
Apply the optional Tag identification System (T.I.S.) and integrate data with a location, time and date. Via the USB or RS 232 connection all data can be downloaded to a PC and into the HI 92000 supporting data spreadsheet.
HI 83749 measures turbidity of samples from 0.00 to 1200 NTU and is USEPA compliant. In the USEPA measurement mode the instrument rounds the readings to meet USEPA reporting requirements. The meter is equipped with a continuous measurement mode to verify the settling rate of suspended matter and a signal average mode (AVG) to accumulate multiple readings that are then reported as a final average value. This AVG mode is particularly useful for measuring samples with suspended particles of differing dimensions.
HI 83749 has a user-friendly interface, with a large backlit LCD. Acoustic signals and displayed codes guide the user step-by-step through routine operations.
